Current Events                        Eric Allaman

As always, Eric is either immersed in or has recently competed a raft of film and TV projects. While most of his composing is done for film and television, one of his first and fondest artistic loves is ballet. Recently, his second ballet, Noah’s Ark, created with choreographer/director, Kim Maselli premiered at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza to ecstatic audiences in May. The Dance Epic featured a cast of 150 dancers, stunning costumes and spectacular scenery, including the Ark.  His debut effort, The Sea Princess, also created with Kim Maselli, played to sold-out crowds of over 1,800 a night.

In movies-for-television, Eric recently scored The Jensen Project and Secrets of the Mountain for NBC with Randy Jackson of American Idol fame. Both scores featured 52 piece orchestras, and claimed ratings victories for NBC.  Prior to that Eric scored Taking a chance on love, the sequel to the highest-rated movie in the history of Hallmark (The Note), which also featured Eric’s music.

In Science Fiction, the animated feature Race was released on DVD, and Eric got to indulge another of his musical specialties, an orchestral-tech score.  He also recently scored two movies for the Sci Fi Channel, probably the hottest cable property in the universe. Fall of Hyperion was a ratings triumph based on the best-selling book series, and Heatwave is a superhero movie with heart and heat.
